the twelve days of Christmas

We're still celebrating at our house. It's not easy to say goodbye to the season. The tree is up (even though a string of lights shorted out), the outside lights are on, and Christmas music is still playing.

A couple days after Christmas we headed uptown on the train to see the ice skating. I thought we might look at it, but Neland was determined to skate. Determined!
And skate he did.
He's not usually a risk taker, but maybe this is changing as he's climbing trees and ice skating.
It was a little rough at first.
But he never gave up.
After an hour and a half, Grandma came out and it took us another thirty minutes to convince Neland we needed to eat lunch (it was after 1pm)! Poor Teague had to sit and wait through it all, and he definitely did not handle it well.
Neland's goal the whole time was to make it to the middle of the ice. Everytime he fell he got right back up, and he did make it away from the wall quite a few times.

After getting Neland off the ice, we found Chick fil a and headed over to watch the bears while we ate.
This was definitely a treat for both boys.
We headed back to the lightrail to head home, and I asked mom to snap a picture of my and my guys. I love taking them on adventures and it's nice having a picture to prove I was there too.
