a dinner conversation

The boys were eating dinner and I was at the sink washing dishes. I hear Teague yell, "I'm doing it! I'm doing it!" Neland says, "No Teague it's not like that." They go back and forth saying this a few times. I look at them and Teague has his arms and hands out and is moving them. I ask Neland what he thinks he's doing. Neland's response, "The robot."

some random favorite beach pictures

Finally getting to the last of our adventure. I wanted to post a few pictures that capture our trip.

Each morning I walked Dali to the beach. Most mornings one of the boys came with me, usually Teague. This morning all my boys came with me, pjs and all.

I know I posted both of these before, but I love them.

It was almost impossible to get them to look up for pictures. They loved digging in the sand.

A few visitors. We saw much fewer than usual, but these were not afraid of us at all. One big difference we saw this year - butterflies and dragonflies were EVERYWHERE, even on the beach! Tons and tons of them. It was beautiful.

A few sunset pictures (a different day from above). There is something so neat about the beach at sunset - even if it's the east coast.
My walking buddy and me, I love this picture of my snuggly guy, undecided between resting and wanting to run. He spent less than half the walk in the Ergo, part of it making footprints and the half being carried by grandpa.
And now I'll leave the subject of the beach. Such a special week.

other excursions

A few of our other favorite beach experiences are driving into Beaufort to eat, shop, see the boats and horses, or visiting Morehead City and eating on the water, and playing miniature golf.

Near our house there's a shopping center with the best Playmobil toy store we've ever seen - they have everything. We always try to stop by, and right beside that is a cute bookstore. At this same shopping center there is a pond with HUGE turtles (and a sign about an alligator). The boys were only concerned with chasing the pigeons. Teague loves to chase birds, I don't know why, but it will keep him occupied for quite awhile.

 Our day in Beaufort.

We hopped on a boat for a quick tour and a chance to see the wild horses.

 Teague was exhausted.

Some pirates joined us for lunch, luckily the boys aren't scared of them anymore!

Our miniature golf outing - never easy with a two year old, but fun (although I can't remember who won).

the aquarium

In addition to the sand, the waves, the pool, we explored a few other areas. The boys enjoyed going the aquarium twice. Unlike last year, the sharks were a big attraction this year.

the pool

Most afternoons Neland and mom (sometimes Chris and Teague) played in the pool. I thought it was way too cold. Neland LOVED the pool. It's the one thing he woke up super excited about doing every day. I think there was one day he stayed in it for four hours!
