He had asked for a remote controlled robot, and in true Grandpa and Grandma fashion - they gave him two.
The party was perfect! Teague and his friends created a beautiful piece of art and had fun doing it!
Teague and his art teacher, Miss Katie. He LOVES art class! Every Friday he's ready to go about three hours before it starts.
The night before his actual birthday we took pictures with our 3 year old Teague.
Then at 6:30am, the time he was born, on April 2nd, I took a picture of 4 year old Teague! We met at this time four years ago - it is crazy how fast it flew. Teague was thrilled with the picture wake up call :)The birthday pictures are a little out of order, but Teague was able to choose everything he wanted to do that day. We started at Einstein Bros. Bagels where they gave him a free cookie (pic is below). Then we headed to his favorite park with his favorite friend (who happens to have the exact same birthday)! Afterwards he chose Showmars for lunch (just like when he turned 3).
Once home he asked to play on the tablet, which I allowed in honor of his birthday. Dad came home early for dinner and presents.
Teague had a great birthday. He continues to make us laugh, give us "big squeezy hugs," and challenge us in his need for independence.
After his birthday, Spring Break was our next big event. I treasured this week as my last week with just two kiddos and nothing scheduled. Once summer rolled around I knew I'd have a newborn dividing my attention even more. We did everything they wanted to do, parks, library, riding the train to meet daddy for lunch, and even dyed a few Easter eggs in preparation for Easter.
We always use our leftover egg dye to make volcanoes!
We even started working on art for the nursery. We purchased two large canvases and paint and as they painted, I'd switch the canvases between them, rotate them and add to them myself as well.Teague conquered the fire pole! He was thrilled.
We discovered 17 ducklings at the local park and visited them twice.
He did a great job remembering his lines! He really loves performing.
It was raining so we skipped the indoor egg hunt and hung outside with the animals. They were wet and smelly but still sweet.
On Easter, we taught Teague's Sunday school class (it's always our favorite day to teach). The kids all bring flowers and we all join together outside at the cross and place the flowers on the cross while there is singing.
Grandma, Grandpa, and Mumsie went to the service while we taught and joined us afterwards.
Afterwards at home we had lunch and an egg hunt. It was a beautiful day!
Sports this season were a lot of fun. Neland has really grown into a great tball player and Teague learned so much about the game of soccer. Neland received the first game ball. And Teague scored a goal at his last game. The only downside was with two playing sports we had to split up a lot. With the weekends being the only time Chris really has with the kids it wasn't easy choosing who went where.
Grandpa and Grandma bought the boys the new playset and Grandpa took time off from work to set it up for the boys. The boys have really enjoyed playing up the hill on the set.
We celebrated Mother's Day at both schools. Teague's had Muffins for Moms where I received this sheet. I am as pretty as a toothbrush. I don't know how to take that, but I'm not too worried about him and girls in the future.
Neland's "Special Person Day" was very sweet. They recited poems, prepared special treats for us and had special art work. We celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma, Mumsie and Granny.
Strawberry season arrived and we took full advantage of it! We picked strawberries twice and Neland even had a field trip there. Strawberry pancakes may be my new favorite strawberry treat, the boys love the slushies.
My boys still love the library and the bookstore. We visited one day waiting for our favorite clothing store to open and the boys put on a dramatic production of Visitor for Bear. It was adorable.
Teague and I met daddy for coffee or lunch as often as possible. It requires a trip uptown which is exciting for Teague. In May the boys visited the dentist. It was our first visit without tears! We celebrated with doughnuts (I'm sure the dentist would not approve). Neland had an adult tooth growing in behind his baby tooth. Luckily the dentist didn't want to pull it (I cannot imagine how I'd ever get him back if she pulled it).
Neland had his first case of pink eye (soon followed by his second). Look at this sweet baby face.
We made the best of the situation and had lunch out following by ice cream.
Here's a view of the artwork we made. I consulted Katie and Small Hands Big Art and she helped me tweak it so it worked for the room. We all really love it and it's perfect for the room.
Teague ended up going to almost all the doctor's appointments my last month. He was a trooper! My office is close to a playground and Panera so often I'd follow up an appointment with both. This day at the playground Teague spent at least thirty minutes trying to conquer the monkey bars - and he did! I was so proud of him! He is one determined little guy.
We checked in on our ducklings. We still go back pretty regularly!
We have had lots of water play - a blow up pool from grandpa and grandma, a slip in slide, the sprinkler, and water squirters!
We celebrated my due date coming and going with sparkling cider. This is one stubborn little girl!
Teague had his last day of 3 year old preschool. It broke my heart for him to finish this year, it was so incredibly wonderful. We loved his teachers and he had the sweetest class.
I felt I needed to take full advantage of everyday past my due date as possible. Neland asked me to come to lunch and of course I said yes. It's always fun to see him with his buddies.
The day before our little gal arrived, Neland lost his tooth!! Although he really lost it, as in can't find it. He made a card for the tooth fairy instead and she was happy to take it.
I'll update soon with our little girl's arrival (Chris tells me I have to rename the blog now)! It was a wonderful spring!
