weekend fun

After the excitement of Neland's birthday, we followed up with a weekend of slippin' slides, corporate picnics, and snow cones. We started Saturday with Chris' company's family picnic. The boys had a blast. Bounce houses, games, a dunk tank, and sweets.
There is no way to yell "FORE" loud enough.

The dunk tank was a favorite. Chris' boss is the one in the tank.
First you see him, then you don't. When throwing didn't have enough force to knock him down the boys were allowed to use their hand.

Cookies and lemonade = happy boys
And in case they didn't have enough sugar, we ended the day with snow cones.

Hours of slippin' slide fun followed the next day.

Auntie Olivia sent Neland a popsicle maker for his birthday (it makes popsicles in 7 minutes). Needless to say Teague benefits from this too.

A perfect way to cool down before a much needed nap (for everyone). These have been a busy few days.

and the celebration didn't end

Neland's birthday was on a Thursday. On Friday we celebrated with all his friends at Squirrel Lake Park. It was a perfect party. The weather wasn't too hot, we had a great covered area and everyone loves this playground.

Neland wanted a Spiderman party, so I made a few decorations that could pass for a Spiderman theme.

Best buddies since they were 2!

This is so high up I cannot reach, this is usually off limits when it's me and the boys at the park. The grandparents didn't know that though.

Teague said, "Look Mom I did it". Apparently he did it over and over.

Comparing tongue colors from the icing.

Granny took the morning off from work to come.

Teaguie had his buddies there too.

The party favors were silly string (what's more like slinging a web than silly string).
We had quite a few left over so there was quite a mess in the front yard.

Finally an action shot, the silly string looks like it's hanging from the tree, but it's mid-air. Really.

This year we collected donations for Room in the Inn, an organization that helps teen moms who need a place to go. I think Spiderman would have approved that decision.

5!!!!

Neland turned 5! It's hard to believe! This year it was all about the presents, and he was not the least bit disappointed.
One more picture from the night before...nothing like having everyone celebrate your last day of being 4!

This is how Neland woke up, well all of us really.

Our picture at 9:11am, right when Neland turned 5. It's perfect.

We tried to fill the day with Neland's favorite things.
 Chick-fil-a for lunch

Toy store to play and choose one toy.

A target Icee (with some toy browsing as well)

When we arrived home he was allowed to open gifts.
His main gift, the Playmobil ferry boat. He also received some binoculars, one other Playmobil set and a new Lego set (which I should have read the age range on).

For dinner he requested chocolate chip pancakes.
Grandma and Grandpa were headed down so after dinner we played before singing Happy Birthday and cake.

Neland requested to open presents before having cake. I love the look on his face in this one. He was so excited about getting the Playmobil farm.
This year he was truly all about the gifts. He requested someone hold Teague the whole time so there would be no interference.

Spiderman cake (requested and chosen by him) and his special birthday plate.
One very happy 5 year old!
