Neland's Easter Party at School

We started this spring break right after Neland's Easter party at school.  We hopped right in the car and headed to Knoxville to visit Chris' sister, brother in law and our niece and nephew.  It had been two years since we've all been together so a trip was over due.  We amazingly made the trip in four hours without any stops (we also didn't have tvs in the car so I think that makes it extra amazing).  Neland and Morgan hit it off right from the start.  They played together the entire trip (and so nicely)!  They were even mistaken for twins a couple times.  While we were there we celebrated birthdays.  Wyatt and Jeff both had birthdays that week.  We also were able to attend one of Wyatt's baseball games (it was freezing and we weren't prepared!).  Teague had a blast with all the toys and older kids running around.  One of the favorite toys of all the kids was the extreme coaster.  I wish I'd gotten a picture of them on it!  We headed home on Monday, not non-stop, but the stops were for me - so the kids were still awesome!

Chris had the week off (supposedly) and it was nice to have some extra help.  We made a playground run (and learned how hard it is to watch Teague on a big playground - the kid is FEARLESS).  Neland also did a few bars on the monkey bars and we were so excited for him!  We grilled out for the first time (and twice).  Smore's are definitely a family favorite.  Although Neland's way of eating them (graham crackerless) lands him directly in the tub after dessert!

We dyed Easter Eggs on Thursday.  Neland did all of two eggs before running off to play.  The kid just does not like art.   Chris and I made some pretty ones though (unfortunately they were left in the rain and ruined).

On Friday, Chris headed into work and I headed to the pediatrician.  Neland had developed hives earlier in the week (and they kept reappearing) and Teague now had an itchy rash covering his torso.  Once there we discovered it was probably a virus, and the antibiotic Teague has been on was not helping his ear.  In fact the pediatrician called it a "raging" infection.  So, off to Target with our prescription.  Neland, of course, could not control his excitement.  While poor Teague cries the minute he sees the doctor's office, Neland immediately asks if we're going to Target afterwards and if he can get a blue icee and look at toys.  My parents came down and meet us at Target and once we had our prescription in hand we drove to meet Chris for lunch.

Saturday (with Chris back at work), Dad helped Neland plant some carrot seeds (we've given up on the green peppers).  This was after I got a nice two hours of sleeping in thanks to my parents playing with the boys.  Neland is really into plants (and bugs) so hopefully these will grow.  Dad also got him so cute little grass haired animals, crossing my finger those grow too.  Immediately after planting, Teague tried to dig them up. 

Spring break ended with Easter, which I'll put in another post.
